Room To Grow

PROJECT INFO: Young family of three with future plans to be four are in a house completely original from the 1960’s. We added a two-story addition to expand the kitchen and basement and built a powder room in the basement. Then, we rearranged walls on the first floor and enclosed the dining room to switch function to an office. Other tasteful touches included wallpaper, mouldings, wainscoting, glass French doors and refinished hardwood. Next, we reconfigured the front half of the second floor to make a grand primary suite. A jack and jill bathroom expanded for a larger primary bathroom, while the fifth bedroom turned into a large walk-in closet. The zero threshold shower ramps into a large custom shower, with access from the bedroom and walk-in closet. The other bathroom and first-floor powder room were gutted and updated. We wrapped up the overhaul with a brand-new large kitchen with 10-foot island centered in the space and a deck with retractable awning off of the kitchen/dining room that leads down to the backyard. This brick addition matches perfectly and looks like it was always there – a seamless success.
