PROJECT INFO: The challenge here was two-fold: the dining room needed an update and the living room needed a new function. After giving the dining room a fresh new feel, we moved on to the bigger challenge. The living room transformed into a homework/tutor space for the young boys, while it also needed to be able to grow with them. At the same time, it had to make sense next to a formal dining room directly off the entry foyer. This was not a toy room; it was an educational room. In the dining room a custom chandelier with decorative globes flanking either side that can be changed seasonally was added. While a map of Chicago on the wall is a nod to their time living in the Windy City. Crystal accessorized the large china cabinet/buffet which balances the industrial zinc table top. And a splash of mustard with the window treatments complements the dark turquoise walls. We certainly did our homework here, and it paid off wonderfully for the family.
