Family Tree House

PROJECT INFO: The deck on this house was old, with an ineffective layout and rotting wood. We came in to give this family more outdoor living space, with a bit of a tree-house vibe. The new deck incorporates a roof with a screened portion, as well as open air for grilling. We even thought of the family dog, by adding a pet door from the house to the deck. Infrared heaters and oscillating fans enable the family to use this space year-round. With a beautiful garden below, we saw an opportunity to extend the nod to nature up to the deck and living space, using window boxes hung from the railing. We finished off the space with a variety of furnishings, including lounge chairs, a dining and cooking area, and even a large swing that faces the beautiful backyard garden. Welcome to the “greater” outdoors.
