PROJECT INFO: This home’s galley kitchen was indicative of the home style and the year it was built, but it was not functional for the family living there. They wanted a kitchen expansion in order to maximize its potential. The renovation included an addition that pushed into the backyard and went the full width of the current kitchen. This allowed us to create an L-shaped work wall and a large island with breakfast bar seating, as well as sliding door access to the patio. We used the old kitchen space to create a walk-in pantry and mudroom lockers for the side entry door. The small addition packed a lot of functional punch for this family of four.
