Modern Kitchen Redefined

When we started, every detail in this home was original to 1967.  Everything was gutted, re-wired, re-plumbed and re-built.  Walls were knocked down.  The kitchen moved.  Rooms were reconfigured.  This was all done in 5 months.  The exterior facade and yard transformation was tackled the next spring.  This was an extreme transformation for a family that wanted to make their forever home exactly what they wanted.

Comfy Fam Hangout

This family wanted a space in their home where they could all lounge around together.  As the children have gotten older, their current family room is not quite as comfy as it once was.  Their basement was being underutilized as it was outdated, dingy and dysfunctional.  We added functional square footage to their home without building an addition.  The basement has been brought back to life functionally and aesthetically.  It is now their favorite room in their house.  They have each already claimed their "spot" on that big, welcoming sofa.  

Black & White is Hexy

Took a small, awkward 3 cabinet kitchen and transformed it into this spacious beauty.  Removed a wall to allow the kitchen to flow into the dining room.  All new appliances finish off the space and provide optimal functionality in these tight quarters.  The client wanted a crisp, clean black and white kitchen, so we made the backsplash the subtle pizzazz that ties it all together.

Formal Living Room No More, But We Still Dine

What should you do with a formal living room off your dining room when you aren't formal? Regain this square footage in your home by making it functional again.  This family has two young boys eager to learn, but without a conducive space to focus on academics.  So why not use the "living room" that isn't being lived in?  They didn't know how to add this function to the space while still making the aesthetic cohesive with the adjoining formal dining room.  Enter You-Neek Designs.  The clients' direction was to fill the walls of the "kids' office" with educational decor and make it a room they can grow into.  The work table has 3 height legs, so it can be changed as they grow.  The poufs are used as seats that will work for mom and dad and the kiddos even as they grow.  Yet all along, there is a formal dining room just a few feet away.  Two distinctly different functions paired with adjacent formal and informal aesthetics and it all fits together seamlessly.  

Rustic Kitchen for a Traditional Home

This family's kitchen had previously been renovated in the 90's and had seen better days.  We removed two walls to open the kitchen up into the dining and living rooms.  The back half of this house is now one long room where three functional spaces bleed into each other.  The aesthetic details flow between spaces, using similar color and textures throughout.  The fireplace was refaced using the backsplash tile. It now creates a focal point to draw your eye from one end to the other.  Cool and warm tones coordinate throughout with different textures from the floor to the furniture to the cabinetry to the walls.  The honed granite pairs nicely with a stacked slate backsplash and is offset with the farmhouse copper sink and leather stools.  Efficiently designed cabinets finish off the space by maximizing every square inch.  Function first.  Aesthetic follows.
